Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a problem with my ID3Tagit: the freedb.org request doesnt work anymore, it doesnt as much as connect before it tells me "no matches were found". It is neither a proxy nor a firewall problem, it worked until it stopped one day. Same for file/word search.
have you seen this?
Thanks
Ralf

Hey,
I have the same problem with my ID3-TagIt. I've tried nearly everything to get it working and also tried it with gnudb.gnudb.org:8880 as server but i can't
Has anyone a solution for this?

Well, I'm a newbie and I've only been using id3tagit for a coupla days. Sometimes I can get the FreeDB and other times I can't locate anything.

For example, I used a list of files from Bob Dylan's Jewels & Binoculars disk 1 (there are 26 CDs of ) and I was able to find the info for the first CD. but I can't find any other info.

Is there any way to query the database? I can write fairly good SQL queries if that would help.

As far as the Dylan "J&B" CDs. I've got all the track listings, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to mass set the main tag fields (I use Mp3/Tag Studio, Power REN 2000 and Explorer2 for most of the file handling. I would sure be nice if I knew how to simplify or streamline the tag setting with id3tagit.

The other issue I've run into is deleting quotation characters in the tags.

I'd read the help document, but it's a little slim at this time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Freedb query

Postby simonsorcerer on Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:01 pm

Hi guys,

same problem for me. The freedb query does not return any results. I checked the query in wireshark (network packet analyzer) and the query always goes to 195.214.216.10 which is not a correct freedb IP even though I have changed the freedb settings in ID3-TagIt preferences to many different hosts.
The real IP would be 195.214.216.38 but I haven't figured out a way to reroute the query to that one.
Please let me know if you find a solution.

Best regards,
Simon
