ID3-TagIT MUST NOT DIE !!

we could do it

Postby brian81 on Thu Jul 17, 2008 3:58 am

I really thought ID3-tagit had was the best tagger I ever used and would hate to reinvent the wheel but maybe will I have no choice.

I could not find a project at http://codeplex.com/ if there is one someone please let me know.

I vote for an Open Source / Cross Platform Inspired Project

I could work fastest in a .NET C#, but C++ is good, VB is OK, maybe others I am pretty flexible.

I have worked with TagLib# (http://www.taglib-sharp.com/Main_Page
) which is great and could make quick work of this.

If we went with .NET, I have not used mono much, but it seems like a good choice in my opinion for an open source / cross platform project. As for the GUI we need a GUI framework (GTK, Winforms, etc ..). I know winforms but am open to anything. As C++ or guess I will trust others on that one (I have used , MFC but its not cross platform, and QT a few times).

Any opinions/ corrections are welcome, on here or email.

I have went ahead and started a project. I don't know how much time I will devote to it. But if I can at least get a fully functional build and start using it, (eat my own dog food) it should go pretty fast.

If anyone is interested in helping I have a the code in a svn repository at ...

If you have trouble or want commit acccess email me.
